New residence and special care home for elderly people accommodating 55 residents, including rooms, medical and administrative offices, a day care center, common areas, a chapel, and a dining room with a commercial kitchen. The project was built on a single level to simplify universal accessibility. Designed of four wings grouped around a central entrance, the building\u2019s size and architectural details were chosen to respect the scale and heritage character of the local residential architecture. The facility offers an atmosphere that closely resembles the residents\u2019 own homes, with units opening onto individual patios. This concept is supported by the building\u2019s layout, landscaping, walking paths, and community garden. Several sustainable development features are also present: healthy interior materials (low in VOCs), extensive use of natural light and energy-efficient lighting, and an exterior cladding made from recycled wood.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9difice offre une atmosph\u00e8re ressemblant le plus possible au \u00ab chez soi \u00bb des clients et les unit\u00e9s donnent sur des patios individuels. Ce concept est support\u00e9 par la forme de l\u2019\u00e9difice, l\u2019am\u00e9nagement paysager, les sentiers de marche et le jardin communautaire.
